Get server appliance reliability at a fraction of the price.
The PowerElf II server appliance has been designed with security and reliability in mind, at all times. Features such as providing a hardware Raid subsystem, simple backup-to-desktop and backup-over-network are all part of providing the administrator with the right tools for the job.
Hardware-Based Raid Subsystem - The PowerElf server appliance can utilize optional active hardware Raid. Raid mirroring protects your data in case of hard disk failure. In the event of failure, the second drive will take over and the system will notifiy the administrator via email. The first drive can be replaced at a convenient time.
Backup - The backup and restore feature of the PowerElf server appliance allows you to back up all the data and user settings that are stored on the server. Keeping backups will ensure that your data is safe and always available.
Network Backup - Network backup lets you automate server backups to a Windows PC or an Apple computer, over the network. The administrator can set backup times, compression levels, file sizes and how long to keep old backups. Backups can be set daily or weekly.
Journaling File System - The journaling file system logs changes to a journal before actually writing them to the main file system. This provides you with greater data reliability.
UPS Auto Shutdown - When a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) is connected to the PowerElf server and a power loss is detected the server appliance will initiate shutdown and power itself off to prevent any system damage.
Factory-tested Hardware - Each PowerElf server is put through an exhaustive 36hr stress-test to ensure that every piece of hardware in the server is tested for reliable use.
