The PowerElf email server appliance provides a secure, stable and efficient platform for providing POP3, SMTP and IMAP to clients. Email can be accessed from anywhere on the Internet, whether at home or on the other side of the world.
Clients are free to use any email client, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Thunderbird. Incoming email can be stored on the PowerElf server, forwarded / redirected to another e-mail account, or forwarded to a "delegate" mail server, such as an Exchange server.
Antispam Filter – Assists in limiting the affect of spam on the PowerElf mail system. The filter works by analyzing mail as it travels through the mail system. Heuristic test, blacklists, and DNSRBLs are used to detect, tag and/or delete tagged spam; reducing the amount of time that is spent sorting through unsolicited email. Mail Server Antivirus - The optional Vexira antivirus (VAMS) provides real-time scanning of all incoming and out going email. The antivirus will scan all incoming and outgoing email, as well as mail that passes through the server to a delegate mail server, such as Exchange. WebMail - The PowerElf email server appliance also supports secure 128-bit encrypted WebMail. The web mail system allows PowerElf users to access their e-mail from any computer on the Internet via a secure web based interface. Users can now use their company email account while away from the office. A copy of the email will remain on the server to be downloaded by their workstation when they are back in the office.
Vacation Messaging - Vacation messaging (auto-responder) can be enabled and controlled by either the administrator or each client. An email will be send to the sender to tell them that the user account that they are trying to contact is unavailable. The users can customize this message.
