Web Hosting - Create and host your very own website. The PowerElf is a robust, commercial-grade web server appliance. Not only does it allow for sites to be hosted on the Internet, but it allows users to host their own internal (intranet) web sites as well. The appliance has support for CGI, Perl, PHP and MySQL database applications.
Virtual Hosting - Virtual hosting allows a PowerElf web server appliance to host more than one web site with a single IP address. The service is transparent to the client and each web site has its own domain name and set of e-mail addresses. For example: "www.companya.com" and "www.companyb.com" could both be hosted on one PowerElf server easily and securely.
SSL Secure Server - CA root certificate support allows for secure encryption for web sites hosted on the PowerElf, whether for e-commerce, or a secure site for storing information. The PowerElf provides 128Bit encryption on the server. Features such as webmail rely on the SSL functionality for security.
Speedy Internet Access - The web proxy cache temporarily stores information from the Internet on the hard drive of the PowerElf, enhancing the network performance in certain circumstances. This feature can be enabled/disabled by the user. The DNS caching service reduces IP address lookup by storing repeatedly used addresses locally, improving network performance. The cache is responsible for handling the web content filtering component as well.
Web Graph Statistics – The "WebStats" provide comprehensive information about the web traffic on the PowerElf. The WebStats provide easy-to-read charts and summaries of the visits by date, name, bandwidth usage, pages visited, average visit duration and much more. These statistics are a valuable source of information for webmasters.
